I never understood why they changed Morcar to Zargon. Morcar is an actual name, Zargon seems to just be random.

Same as when they changed Karlen to Wardoz. Makes no sense.

Or when they stripped out the fall of Sir Ragnar.

I meant evil in an action figure kind of way.
I'm well aware that Morcar sounds incredibly evil (or negative, to use a different description) when pronounced rhotic(ally; is that a word?).
You're probably not a happy child when someone yells after you from downstairs: MOOOOORR-KKAAAAHRRRRR !!!

I feel that Morcar (and Karlen) feel more 'straight' or serious names with a certain gravitas to them. Zargon feels much less serious or something obvious sounding which might be aimed at younger audiences. I mean no offence to people who grew up with or prefer Zargon of course; Morcar was what I grew up with, so I'm biased. Despite this, many of the US changes to rules improve the game immeasurably.

Interestingly, with all the other changes to rules and pretty much every HQ system, it seems no one has called their evil wizard player anything but Morcar or Zargon. I propose someone run a campaign with the EWP named Fuzzy Winkletoes!

Additionally, I first heard of the expansion "Wizards of Morcar" before it registered that Morcar was a person. So I never made the leap to "Wizards of Zargon" <- and that sounds lame to me! If I had it now, I would still substitute Zargon for EWP, and instead allow Morcar to be a location, alliance, or Chaos deity.
