*OFFICIAL* Order of CURRENT HeroQuest Books per Avalon Hill

Still haven't seen any word on Jungles of Delthrak, but the pack isn't even out yet. I noticed that JoD is the first expansion to incorporate something that was originally introduced in Crypt of Perpetual Darkness (the grasping vines trap). Could this be the first pack to get placed after CoPD?

Interesting point... but I honestly don't see enough strong the link with vines traps... so if I had to make a guess, I would go to practical thinking, so I would say that maybe this new JoD questpack should be placed BEFORE CoPD, why? Because CoPD has not been published for retail so I would be surprised if Hasbro thinks that JoD should be played after a questpack never released for the general public. Additionally, the special characters mechanics introduced in JoD goes in line with the same mechanic introduced for the first time in RotDM, so it makes sense to me that maybe JoD should be played inmediatelly after RotDM. Of course all this is just speculation from my side, and probably the real intention of Hasbro is allowing JoD to be played in any moment, but at the same time they have demonstrated before that questpacks order is not something totally ignored by Hasbro during questpacks developments, so...

Just to mention that it has been officialy confirmated from AH about when JoD should be played: As I expected, JoD should be played before CoPD (and by now I guess also after RotDM).

Just started playing/collecting again and this thread was very helpful with the Avalon release.
Looks like the OP has not been on here since July 2023, so not much chance of editing and updating the 1st post with the new expansion packs.

Last few pages have helped though.
I did click on the links for the online quests, they are long gone 404 on their blogs.
Is there another source for these - and I assume, they would be PDF's?

All of these (except Rogar's Hall) are also included in the HQ Companion App (as of version v.3.1) of course if you just go to the app you miss a lot of the extras and lore (especially in Into the Northlands, but also New Beginnings and Knightfall). Revisiting this thread... so we now have the alternate game system/starter set "HeroQuest: First Light" (2025) taking place at the same time as the Game System (Quest 1 of FL begins after Quest 2 of the GS, and the final quest 10 of FL ends with the "awakening" of the Witch Lord which would probably mean Quest 12 of the GS).

A little detail.. Jungles of Delthrak, unlike all of the other packs released in the Avalon Hill line, has no "blank quest map" at the end. Granted, in the original HQ releases of the classic era only the Game Systems (and the Adventure Design Kit) had the blank maps included. JoD was a long book, so no implication that it was meant to be somehow the last quest...

And via the OP, Crypt of Perpetual Darkness is set after JoD, and now we know that (via leaks) both are expected by the end of this year, 2025.

Could Wizards of Morcar be set after that? Or will it come after ATOH, as in the old chronology?

I was a childhood player of Heroquest in the 90's and I've been so EXCITED to return to the Game via the new 2021 / 2022 Releases. I recently wrote to Avalon Hill, to get OFFICIAL word on what Order the quests / quest books are meant to be played in.

Here is the EXACT order they sent me (in terms of the proper Story Progression).
