I paid $60 American for the complete base game (including shipping), just paid $75 for a set of 60 original minis from ebay (a complete set plus enough extra undead to complete KK and ROTWL expansions). Considering shelling out another $80 for Bones minis to complete the Ogres and Wizards expansion minis. This stuff is addictive...

Ethica wrote:Originally Heroquest cost £19.99 I think when I got it for Christmas in about 1989. I sold it at a car boot sale and bought it again when in was 1993 for £10 (this was before it's revival). Recently I got 2 incomplete sets giving me more than 1 complete set for a total of about £18.

We paid DKK 200, with £1~DKK10. So same as Ethica.

Well... Actually my dad won a Lego competition where you had to guess how many bricks were used to build a big figure in the store.
He won some lego stuff (pirate ship I think), and while lego IS awesome, we had the choice to just exchange the cost of the lego for anything else in the store.
So we went for a stroll to see if anything tempted more than lego, and there it suddenly stood on a shelf... The legendary game...

The rest is history! :D

But the cost was DKK 200 (Why can I even remember that?).

I bought the basic game and the first 2 expansions off the shelf (whatever the original price was) when it was released. Stopped playing, missed out the Elf and Barbarian expansions (was even working at a gamestore and the Elf box was sitting on the shelf and i thought, interesting they are still releasing expansions for the game) and jumped into tabletop wargaming. Gave it to my nephew (who couldn't find anyone to play because kids these days just want to play FPS, racing, and sports video games). Since getting the game back (to use at work), I've printed a ton of stuff and bought recasts for the 4 expansions I missed.

Got my first game at a thrift store for $5 back about 2000. Eyes bulged a bit and heart raced some as suddenly it was kiddie Christmas again. Ka-ching!
