Whats wrong with a green Fimir?

I mean, interesting patterns like on snakes are more beautiful, but cost ten times more time.

Epic. How did you approach advancement once the equipment was bought out? Perhaps you reset with new Heroes? How many different Quests did you play? Were there any particularly effective tricks to keep it fresh? I imagine your advanced rules will cover some of this.

Actually, this was without the advanced rules!

The HQR set has a revised armoury. The wider range of equipment and larget upgrade costs worked really well, as did the flow of items through the various quest books.

The party didn't max-out their equipment until part way through Wizards of Morcar, and they spend the rest of their money in the future maintaining that level and buying potions & henchmen.

ALL Fimir are cool!
I just don't like the lack of variety in a full HQ set of painted figures where three monster types are shades of green, is all.
Nothing wrong with that, but completely against my sense of aesthetics and goals as a painter.
The bog theme offers many different browns and greys, even albino or piggy-pink skin types as viable and interesting options.
Mine won't be green.

If anyone likes their Fimir, the late lamented WFRP Fanzine Warpstone did a Fimir special a few years back. Tremendous stuff!

I definitely still play. Last time was about a month ago. Our group played a couple times over summer and before June we played about one to two times per month. Scheduling a game is difficult, but everyone enjoys the game and tries their best to find a day that works for everyone, or most of the group at least.

Decided to try a very dilute version of HQ with my daughter. The first game was a bit taxing. But now a few days later she's kind of getting the idea of rolling the movement dice (now being changed to a static number to make it easier and faster for her) and combat dice to 'beat' the monster it's a lot better. Highlights so far have been mentioning magic and having her say enthusiastically 'Abracadabra' to cast it. Using a sleep spell to put a monster to sleep and afterwards her saying 'I have to move quiet because the monster is sleeping'. Kids pick up on roleplaying a lot more than adults it seems. Also found out that greed doesn't know any age limits. Instead of helping the 'friend' (NPC: Non Player Character) adventurer while he, the elf, was fighting 2 skeletons my daughter ran straight for the treasure. Such cold hearted adventuring...

I play it, although not as much as I'd like. Life is WAY too busy lately...

But my son is almost 2 now, so I still have about 5 years to finish painting every single mini I own, plus my new 3D dungeon set.
And that's gonna be a tough job to do in so little time xD

After what seemed like an eon of not playing it since the 90s, I ran an online campaign through the first quest book (which I documented here on the forums) using modified rules. After that, I continued on as a player in a friend's game. It's funny because this guy modified my own rules. So we're playing a hack of a hack of HeroQuest. It is glorious and still fun. :)
War is not the answer...unless the question is, 'What is not the answer?'
