Yeah there are still several typos (that don't impact gameplay) that have been in the HQ Companion App for a long time. Some glitches that should be tested include running away from the "Death Mist" (they cited ROTWL for fixes), the spell behavior of the Frozen Horror final boss and crashing the App by trying to hit "Undo" in the middle of a turn.

And still no "Rogar's Hall" (maybe by the time Prophecy of Telor comes out they'll add it in? the only major things I can think of that would need to be added would be the Mentor healing dead heroes thing and the special goblins -- though modified monsters have been a part of the app for a long time, but then they could just simulate the healing stuff I suppose while a figure (that looks like the 2nd alternate Wizard) just kind of hangs around near the starting point of the quest or something and a note saying he can save any one hero from dying in the quest in three instances).

Are all 12 Dread Spells now accounted for in the App? Because having a random one cast doesn't seem that crazy then either.

I had originally hoped for Restoration Games to pick up the HQ IP. HQ and Thunder Road were my two biggest wish list items from the RG crew, and I bugged them about it for years. Thankfully, Thunder Road is currently in delivery status--which I'm thrilled for.

At the moment (things can always change), AH appears to be invested in expanding the available content for HQ, and I'm pretty excited to see where the game goes.

I still think RG could have done something fun with HQ, and we might have gotten something of an Advanced HeroQuest kind of offering (Which may/ would have been pretty divisive) , however, for now, I am glad it was AH. I think that in the long run RG would have done a good job, but it would have likely been a one and done project. With AH, so far anyway, it seems that the future of HQ is fairly bright for the next couple years.

Yesterday, Twitter and Facebook accounts of Hasbro Fans España have published here and here this very enigmatic message:

Screenshot_20230518-002412_Chrome.jpg

This accounts do not use to publish too much about HeroQuest, so it is double surprising for me seeing this message...

It seems to be a some kind of 'quiz' or 'game' where they ask for answers about which kind of quest do you prefer between two options they provide, here is a raw translation to English of the whole message:

‐‐-----------------------------

Hasbro Fans Spain - 16th of May 2023
Difficult decision... do you like more keys or magical artifacts?

- The key of the dungeon.
- Hidden jewels.

Tell us why in comments below!

HeroQuest
Which mission would you like to play?

The key of the dungeon

You are exploring a dungeon and you are in a room with a closed treasure chest. After checking it, you noticed that you are catched and a special key is needed to open it.

Meanwhile, a group of Goblins has detected your presence and are approaching to the room. You must decide if searching the key to open the chest or preparing to fight against the Goblins.

Hidden jewels

You are in a room with a great stone door. During its checking you noticed that it is sealed and there is a rare symbol graved on it. After some further investigation, you discover that three magical jewels are required to open it, hidden somewhere in the dungeon.

However, while you are searching for the jewels, you are attacked by a group of Orcs led by a powerful Shaman. You must decide if continuing the search of the jewels or fighting the Orcs to stop them and secure the room.

‐‐-----------------------------

I know my translation to English above is not too good, but it is a literal translation of the Spanish text and notice that I think it is also a bad translation from an original English text somewhere in a Hasbro employee desk.

Nevertheless, what if the first adventure is linked with DWARF's skills in disarming traps and the second one is linked with WIZARD's magical skills understanding rare magical objects?

What if Hasbro is asking which Quest Pack would you like to see first at shops? The Dwarf Pack or the Wizard Pack?

Just guessing, but... could be true, I think.

Interesting! Thanks for posting this...

I think I would like to see the Dwarf pack because so little is known about what the finished product of this lost pack would look like. Then again the Wizard would bring a lot of content to the table. It's a tough call!

The only right answer is to release BOTH at the same time LOL.

In all seriousness though, if they plan on doing Wizards of Zargon eventually, than I would prefer the Dwarf pack to come out first. Just to break it up. I don't think they would do two wizard type packs in the same year but I would prefer them spread out.

Plus, if I recall correctly the Dwarf pack had some cool "monster" monsters (i.e. worms, moles, golems) that could have oversized bases. HQ needs more beefy monsters!

Then again they did release the "Elf" themed packs pretty close together... (MOTM, Rogue Heir and now Dread Moon) but yeah.

Since they doubled the size of the Frozen Horror's base (at the expense of game realism, but painters loved him) anything is possible!

It would probably be easiest for them to release stuff that is basically already finished more or less as is (minimal adjustments would need to be made to WOM and ATOH to get them ready for remake players to use them) vs. writing brand new stuff. If what we think we know about the Dwarf pack (that it was only ever 50% completed) is true, they would have some work to do there (unless they decide to start over with only the basic template, if that). Still, I'd love to see what they come up with, though I'd hope it retained some spirit of what the original was intended to be, if possible. Like imagining if it had really been released in 1993 (though thoroughly playtested this time).

The advantage is that there's no nostalgia behind the Dwarf & Wizard packs since they were never released (only the longing for packs like that to come out after the Elf & Barbarian came and went so quickly to feel complete), while there is for ATOH and WOM, even if it is mostly "limited" to those in Europe, the original birthplace of HeroQuest and its fandom.

The Europeans LOVED getting our exclusive stuff, I'm sure we'll love getting theirs!

Good points. I see a mega company like Hasbro wanting them to get something out quick while writing the Dwarf pack. So it seems like a no brainier to do the 2 Wizard packs or maybe AtOH while the Dwarf is being worked on.

I will take as many oversized monsters as they want to give me BUT I want to see boss characters (in general) more often in the same quest book. Stinks for Zargon to have some powerful bosses yet the heroes only see them once in 10 quests. Have them fight a weaker version half way through (maybe they are toying with the heroes) and then a full on battle at the end. I wouldn't even mind the last quests being just 5 empty rooms, several cannon fodder monsters and the big bad. And that's it!

I would not mind any of that at all lol. Although, AH have been making minis with less assembly required than OG HQ.

I would love minis like that Druid in that Forrest expansion for DnD quest or whatever it was called. if I recall correctly you could add pieces to the mini to show that he had turned evil.

Or what about some minor customization in HQ that could alter stats? Like, if you want to give the heroes a hard time, sub out the sword on the boss and give him the giant hammer (which gives him more attack dice). That would be interesting
