The spirit riders are special monsters that appear in RotWL "The Cold Halls".

And for the love of God, make sure the models aren't overly detailed and have fairly static poses.
Besides proportions, these are the two things that most often makes a mini feel out of place on the HQ board.
(If you try to maintain the HQ mini look at least)

I think it goes without saying that Decipher is planning on keeping the static pose style when he claims to keep MB style.
This is also a mass product (as in many miniatures of one model) and caters to boardgamers, so budget questions arise and no-variation-among-a-monster-type offers the greatest compromise.

And, oooh, these Spirit Riders were so early that I've sold them and upgraded at least twice, now standing at three Confrontation Skeleton warriors in heavy armor, completed by a Warmachine model. When I'll rewrite the RotWL quest pack, they are not gonna be Spirit Riders anymore, for obvious reasons, but rather Blackknights or something like that. Just for those who are interested in my miniature projects.

I support the less detail is better approach: each and every detail costs time if you paint.
Static poses however are the one reason I want to replace HQ Models.

In the end it is your decision of course. I would also buy a static "Fomor", but i'd be more lucky with an interesting pose.

The HQ original flexes his muscles and shows off his mono-orbed monstrosity.

Okay how about this? I'll see if drathe will create a special room here in the forums, anyone who wants to contribute somewhat can get access to the room. I'll post progress pics of the 3D model per project as we go and we can all change it and sound off on it before going to molding phase. There are three stages with this model part, the wire skeleton, which is where the pose comes in. The second is the generic skin which is where we can mess with the skin dimensions and lastly the third is the detail and sign off for it. I know not everyone is going to agree or be happy with every mini, but the more I create in the beginning, the more I can offer on the website the more I can afford to make later.

To be clear, I really do want the Milton Bradley style from 1989. I want to make miniatures that no one else is making. ;)

And while I have your attention, I'll ask again cause my last post was overlooked, are the original MB HQ combat dice 14mm?

Well crap. They will have to be 14mm, that is the smallest size this company makes.

That's not too bad. People are gonna have full sets and not just buy 1 in addition to the original 4 or 6, I'd wager.
Just remember to offer them in bunches of 3 and 6 and 12. That's what I would do, with each step offering a little discount.
