I invented a funny-sounding form of verse to use for the dialog of a particular type of person from the game I am making. It is the sophomoric-use of Old English and Middle English words, in pentameter.
It always sounds hilarious to me.
To write your own, first make a sentence in regular English.
"Axes just work better this way."
Now arrange the same statement in pentameter, which basically means five pairs of two words that form a speaking rhythm.
worry not! | this is | the way | my axe | works best
Then go to a site like this one--http://www.william-shakespeare.info/william-shakespeare-dictionary.htm or
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php and replace as many of the words in that sentence with archaic English ones that have even the most minimally-similar meanings.
"Dent afears! Be-mete, hild thus, mine axe brookes beste."

Also, I realize that this is probably funny only to me.
