Heroquest remake by Hasbro - The BIG discussion thread

Dread replacing Chaos. Fishmen "Abominations" replacing Fimir. And we've got Zargon instead of Morcar. Otherwise, it all looks just like a fancy update. Unsure about rules, though.

The minis look very modern... they're gray (paint these, suckas) with the stepping stone effect on some of them, and of course thick round bases.

Wait for Bard's video of him tossing the new minis in the trash and using the old ones, and crossing out "Dredd" with a red pen and writing in "Chaos." That's what I'll be doing.. haha

The "Dredd Warriors" look like anti-paladins or something. A lot more generic than the classic Chaos Warriors. Witch Lord looks cool. Dwarf has an axe bigger than he is. Elf looks good (certainly better than the old female elf). Barbarian looks fine. Wizard looks ok.

Skeleton looks less naked and still has his scythe. Zombie gets sword & shield (doh). Mummy looks kind of goofy, much more cartoonish. Looks like we have female orcs? (Orc clothes, but female build.. both wearing baggy armor). The art style is much more generic for minis. Looks like same character stats and distribution of minis like the original game.

This appears to be a straight up remake/reboot of the NA board game. I WAS WRONG, and I'm glad... thought for sure this was going to be a crappy mobile game.

And the Board is the same layout and could almost be the same art. I can't tell for sure.

Looks like there is a little bit more variety in the minis, 5 different poses for the orcs.

Hmm, so now I'm starting to wonder... other than wanting to support Hasbro... holding out hope for future expansions... or you've never had HQ before and want to get into it.. why would you buy this?

It's the same game just with different artwork. The new minis don't look that impressive (just more "modern"... which could be achieved by kitting out your set with Reaper or Warhammer minis, [Edit: or WizKids, which seem the closest match]).

This seems geared for newbies or people who lost their set ages ago... sorta.

GOBLINS.. ugh. they look awful, like cartoon characters (more like SKAVEN than GOBLINS), big heads and everything, they don't fit with the rest of the minis that seem going for a more "realistic" look (a kind of comic book conan feel, everything is shredded, ripped and in "action pose"). Female Goblin, yo.

Back at the extra level and you also get 2 expansions. Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord that look like basically straight up remakes of those as well!

I was excited.... Until I saw US/CA only. No option for overseas backers unless we know someone over there? Seems like a missed opportunity... I already have 2x base game and the AU expansions so maybe this isn't worth it anyway... But I still want it haha, more HQ is never a bad thing.
