Everything's wrong about pragmatism.
It robs reality of individualism, innovation, evolution, revolution, taste, empathy, freedom.
To even say "There's nothing wrong with pragmatism" is pragmatic squared.

I love the idea of pragmatism, I just hate how it has impacted America. Here is a perfect example of why it makes for a strong idea. Read this short story, its worth every moment of your time.

It's a VERY short short story, TMU. You're being overly pragmatic over the term short story.

errr.. how can you be "pragmatic" about a term? The way I understand it, pragmatic means usefull, factual, didactic, finding a solution that works (be it the best solution or not). The "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - approach.
Might not always be the most innovating or evolutionary solution, but it works.

I don't see how someone can be pragmatic about a definition or term... And pragmatism has nothing to do with taste, empathy or freedom in my opinion. Maybe we have a different understanding of the word?

Gods we're getting off topic again.

You can be pragmatic about defining and understanding a term as well as you can be pragmatic about structuring your informational background to work from and come up with some inductive or deductive solution/result/innovation/change. It all depends on the background and/or your pragmatism about which piece of information you want to use or not.

TMU chose to just "see" the length of the text cp linked to and at first sight of it went "That's not short, Al", completely deriding the literary term "short story", which the linked story categorizes for in every respect. TMU did so unknowingly or intentionally, which I think it was. Either way, that's pragmatic in that he wanted to comment the lack of shortness the story has, which made it, at that moment, unreadable for him, tempting him for the joke, making the thought pattern behind that all pragmatic.

Phew.

Pragmatic means that you display work-like systematic behavior where and when it is unnecessary.

Thanks for the replies, so I'm assuming that MB just used the same process that they used to make playing pieces for their other non-fantasy games instead of going through Citadel. It's a shame that they didn't choose Ral Partha if they wanted to manufacture the miniatures locally.
