I like the Rage ability. The Barbarian needs something, as his 3 dice attack is just that of one of the cheapest weapons. The only real advantage he has over the Dwarf is 1 more Body Point. And of course when the opposition acquires spells, his 2 Mind Points are a real hindrance. So definitely an interesting idea.

If you don't let him throw it, there's no issue. I could imagine him just not being allowed to fight (until he'd bought another weapon in the next quest) by some Zargons, until they went online hunting for answers. Defaulting to "base attack" as in the EU editions would be interesting, I guess that's another possible outcome for a Zargon who doesn't have the official answer readily at hand.

Remember in The Two Towers (book) Gimli and Legolas made a bet on who can kill the most Orcs in the Battle of Helms Deep? Gimli had won the bet, killing 1 more Orc. The last orc he killed was with his bare hands.
First Light may not address the unarmed combat problem, but this is something for a knowledgeable Zargon to determine. I'm sure they gave the Dwarf this option, assuming a player would be smart enough to not throw the Hand Axe until he has replacement weapon. But as Einstein said about human stupidity being infinite, you can't always rely on a smart player.
We've got you covered here. You could just give a 1 attack dice to an unarmed combatant as noted in Legacy of the Orc Warlord. Or there's the made up rule that their starting combat dice still resonates but they need to roll :blackshield:s to count as a hit. Or you might have a better idea. Just the same, these are some of the things a Zargon player needs to make decisions on.
