I backed it because I played it years ago (my younger brother picked up a copy when we were in high school).
I never liked the GW art style, but the game was fun.
I love the new art style and the minis, and I'm glad that the game I remember still plays the same.

I also have a few thousand DnD minis from the skirmish game from years ago, and a half dozen dungeon crawler board game kickstarters on the way, the minis for which mostly match the style and scale of this new HQ.
Just think of all the homebrew material for HQ I can come up with. :)

I bought because I thought my boys might like it (I have the original and expansions). I also wanted to see new content and have a nephew that's been trying to piece a copy together but prices are high. I figured back this and get it to retail give a reasonable price FULL version.

I almost bought two since I have two boys, by that would have cost a bit. No I regret just buying one because my nephew didn't see my post at all and missed out. I know he would have loved the Mythic Tier. But that may still get released at retail as the only exclusive were Sir Ragnar, Mentor and the Witch Lord.

I wanted the knight but feel it's a bit of a money grab. You get the one new hero, male/female version and three new abilities. The four equipment cards are duplicates and you get duplicated ability cards. I may get it if I find it on sale or second hand, otherwise I'll use my own miniature and create 3 ability cards to use if I really want a knight.

I backed Mythic because I played HeroQuest with my brother and wanted to finally have a HeroQuest board of my own. So far, life is good.

There's no option for 'I didn't back because I didn't know it was happening'

Looking back, that would have been the most common option among HeroQuest fans worldwide...

There was nothing in the campaign that interested me, as I already had a complete set of the European game and its expansions (plus stripping out the GW trademarks and appearance did nothing to entice me, as they were a big part of what made the original so charming). Even when I saw the new game box along with Kellar's Keep and Return Of The Witch Lord on retail shelves early last year I wasn't really interested.

What caused me to buy the new stuff recently was the new editions of the two US-only Quest packs, plus news of the two all-new expansions coming this year.

The retail prices (other than for the Rogue Heir) have all been coming down lately too, so even more enticing... (you can still pay full price direct to Hasbro Pulse of course if you wish!)

LoL... 5 choices wasn't nearly enough.

One of the main reasons that I backed it, aside from wanting to share it with my kids and friends, was the hope that if it was a successful campaign that they would a) re-release all the old material (which the seem to be doing), b) make it available for retail for others to enjoy around the world, and c) hoping that they would add new quests and content.

This is one of those games that I've loved since first discovering it in 1992. Being in the military and living in the barracks, I didn't see the commercials, and considering the timeframe, was a bit busy during the initial release, but am glad I found it shortly after getting discharged at a local Toys 'r Us.

I'm glad to see that my hopes are coming to fruition, and am excited to see what the future holds. In my spare time, I'm back to writing homebrews and have almost completed my classic expansions. I'm missing some of the original minis and the boxes from BPQ and the EQP, and while I haven't found them yet, I know that I have WoM (it's a French Edition) and AtOH hiding in a box somewhere (they were both complete and the person that sold me WoM provided a translation for me as well in the box).

I'm surprised that with the ogres from the new EQP that AtOH wasn't announced soon thereafter. But I guess those are topics for elsewhere.
