Slaves

Postby Von Necron » February 10th, 2012, 4:27 pm

My buddies and I will be starting our Dark HeroQuest soon. After a 3 year break I've rewritten our house rules. The anti Hero's are a Chaos Knight, Chaos Shaman, Necromancer, and Marauder. In this new campaign I plan on encorporating slaves. I don't have any slave minis. Does any one have any good mini sugestions if not minis I can use paper cutouts if anyone comes across any good enslaved people images. I can google and resize so don't bother there but if anyone comes across some random image of chained up people post it for me. Thanks.

No thoughts on minis for slave.
But, can I get the rules for the anti-heroes and the rules for slaves? Sounds like a good idea, should I ever get to play again.

I also have no slave mini advice.

So are they catching peasents and enslaving them or quelling rebelion?
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

House rules few simple changes. I dindnt really make anti hero rules. Story line is that Two are kurgans from the Chaos wastes that have come to sylvania according to a vision to find a warrior with a great destiny. That warrior is the other players character that is on his way to be a chaos knight. I have a huge collection so I have figures to represent each I'll post pics when I finish painting the shaman. I also read the warhammer novels so our games take place in the current warhammer world where as heroquest took place in the time of sigmar. I don't know how knowledgeable anyone is on the fluff. The characters once they get back to the wastes will still fight monsters and eventually get to fight knights and human empire soldiers. The slaves will be important for selling to other tribes or dark elves. Lots of raids along the empires coasts and protecting slaves from other warbands. I'm on my phone now so I can post my house rules later but there largely dependent on having lots of minis and lots of outside quests. Some rules we introduced involve.

Turn order
Skill points
Locks/traps skill level
Skills paths
Random Abilities that are rare but come up like negotiation.
Unarmed combat
When they die back to save point
When reduced to zero unconscious
Armory in villages
Mounted combat.

Whatever your interested in I'll share when I'm at my computer but I kept it all simple, no crazy d&d stuff all simple.

Can you elaborate on how the slaves are used; what role do they play? What are you looking for?

Harem girl/nude-ish/slaves?
African bearers?
Rice farmers?
Prisoners?
Gladiators?

Prisoners for slave trade. Examples would be attack village, capture villagers by either defeating leader and they surrender or killing off all armed villagers. Then the amount of slaves the "antiheroes" posses would be kept at there village. Slaves can be sold for money. Other possible quests would involve the players village being attacked and they have to keep their slaves from being captured or killed. Another quest would involve transporting slaves to be sold and being attacked. Each slave that dies is less money the players get when they get to the slave market. We also have a rule that a creature is only dead if reduced to less then Zero. Having one body point and taking one body point of damage means a creature or human can be left for dead, killed on the spot, healed or dragged off to the pens. Before this only applied to the heroes but when we play again it will mean a lot of wounded lying around. The unconscious get no play though they are at the mercy of the conscious. So possible slaves will be 1. Non combatants 2. Those that are unconscious 3. Those who surrender because quest objectives have been completed like defeating leader or a ransom. Again I don't know how it would work in the original board map. We rarely use it. Quests with us sometimes involve a standoff or ambush in an open area with a wagon being the centerpiece and some terrain features.

That's pretty close to what happens in Highlander! :)

Acutually we stopped playing 4 years ago because my wife and I had our first kid. When we stopped I had the heroes engaged in a vampire lord campaign. They never got to finish the campaign but now that they want to take the path of chaos I'm just having them pick up where they were but bailing on there last quest. So as they make there way north they will be stalked by both angry vampires and angry witch hunters.
