Luckily the set I picked up off my friend is the 'advanced set' version and also came with the Ogre Horde expansion, so hopefully these will be painted sometime too!

At the moment I'm just painting the basic set (I'm halfway through the goblins already) - thanks a lot for the encouragement it really helps with the motivation! :)

I'll try to do get some pics in the gallery, but not sure if this option is available to me yet! I'll repost a blog link into the miniatures page though

Thanks all for being so welcoming! :D

@Stephen/Spiky-
Welcome. Those paint jobs are something else. Your kids are lucky to have such a talented father. I hope you pick up Against the Ogre Horde as well. It would be a shame for the EU sets to be missing this pinnacle treatment.

Wow, the eyes are great. I never noticed the Wizard was wearing a ring before, but there it is. Also, nice details on the Barbarian and Elf belts. I can see you've done some painting before.

Shy-design's suggestion of posting in the gallery is a good idea. If you're interested, I'd be happy to help out. Others have also started threads in the General HeroQuest Discussion or HeroQuest Additions--Miniatures boards. It would be easier to find your excellent blog later from one of those places if you started a new thread.

It's great to have a new member, and even more so when he has eye candy to share. Looking forward to your progress.

Didn't really check the blog at first, but shy-design is right, those are awesome! :-)

hey spiky. first: welcome.
second: awesome work on the miniatures you painted. Those are some of the best paint jobs that I have seen. I really like the face detail of your wizard.
he looks old and battle hardened. really really great work.

keep up with the blog for sure, but I suggest posting some of your work in the gallery pages here at yeoldeinn forums. I am sure everyone here will dig your handy work.

cheers,
SHY

Hi All,

My name's Steven and I'm new to this forum. I played Heroquest when I was a kid but have recently acquired a set from a friend. I've started getting it painted as my own children might be old enough to play it in a few years!

I've not played a game for maybe 20 years but have good memories of the game. To motivate me I've also started a painting blog at http://www.spikysheroquestblog.blogspot.com/ which I hope to keep updated as I progress through the models.

Cheers all
Steven
