Ye Olde Inn

Been reading the site for quite a while and finally decided I would ACTUALLY sign in for real. I adore this site.

Background: Bought the game new at Toys R Us in Texas and have been dragging it around with me ever since. I run a few table top rpg games, mostly DnD now that everyone's obsessed with 5e but I have a soft spot for dungeon crawlers, OSR and traps. I love traps. And one day I WILL run Barrowmaze. Dreams.

Basically I just wanted to throw it out there that y'all do some amazing stuff on here and my game has expanded quite a bit since I found this site. Even now I find new folks to introduce the game too and it's always surprising how much new players take to it, even amongst all the newer games. At any rate. Thanks for the stuff y'all do because it's amazing.

It's pretty cool that you have hung on to your copy of the game for so long, and still get a chance to introduce new players to HQ every so often. I have been of the opinion for years that, simple crawlers with good RPG-lite theming, are great gateway games. The ability to introduce new players to the idea of "Playing a Role" in a game, as opposed to simply moving pawns around (even though that's all minis really are), seems to wake people's creativity up. Games that can do this without being overburdened by fiddly rules facilitates that in a big way. HQ is not perfect, but as simple RPG-lite rulesets go its a winner.

Anyway, and again, welcome to the fray!

Nice to meet you and don't worry you're not the only one to carry their game around with them....lol
I've still got mine and try to play with my kids at least twice a month.
