Correct me if I'm wrong, but to get free shipping from Hasbro, you have to pay for the $50 (?) annual subscription fee. You can often get free shipping from Amazon even without a Prime subscription. It's not illegal, so I have no problem ordering it from a retailer who sells it early. Buying it from other online stores doesn't make much difference in terms of profit or money for Hasbro, ultimately, we've been told. If it were, they simply wouldn't sell it new anywhere but their own website. Granted, the story was they were doing this with SQT/PoT, but it turns out not to have been true. I'm pretty sure HasbroPulse doesn't ship worldwide, so there's another reason to look for it wherever you can get it at (or below) MSRP.

Most of the HQ remake stuff I didn't pre-order and I didn't get via Hasbro's site. For me it's whoever gets it to me the quickest and cheapest (and pre-ordering is not guarantee of either of those things, as we've seen). Each to their own of course.

When I ordered my Monk from Amazon, it arrived Dec 2nd (this I gifted to a close friend for Christmas). The second one I ordered from the same page will arrive Jan 8th (granted, Hasbro moved their own US release date to Jan 2nd, I'm in no hurry though I could change it to avoid waiting another week).

Interesting using the Monk in the Japanese quests. Are you by any chance using the NA conversion of those rules by bastianbux (as found on BGG)? Because the original Japanese rules actually say that certain monsters can only be slain if they sustain two body points of damage at once (otherwise they heal by the next turn; granted, that fact changes nothing about Quest 1 in this case).

Other modifications would need to be made by Grimdead (Zargon) since several items can only be used by certain heroes (and are essential to victory in certain quests).

When I ordered from Hasbro, there was a banner at the top that said free shipping for orders of $75 or more. Idk if this was a temporary promotion, or if its still that way, but the monk pack with with PoT and SQT was enough to get me free shipping. I didn’t sign up for premium membership that you pay for, but I do have a free standard account.

Good to know, SirRick! Amazon (US anyway) used to grant free domestic shipping for non-prime accounts only on orders over $35 (not counting third party market items), now it's usually free when serviced by Amazon unless you want rush shipping and/or gift wrap (basically a plastic faux-fabric bag tied with a ribbon). Not sure when that changed (maybe around the time they added sales tax?).

I finally did see the same notice myself... appears to be a holiday thing for HasbroPulse (doesn't include Haslab products, so presumably not those who got that shortlived sale of leftover Mythic boxes). I too have only a free account and would never consider paying for a subscription (even if it were like $1, why bother when I can get the same product with free shipping elsewhere with fewer strings attached?).

The Dread Veil Dice set is still only available on Pulse. Yes, I'm a sucker. No, I'm not paying $50 per year for their membership when most (if not all) of their stuff will (eventually) show up on Amazon. I can only assume Hasbro is holding back from allowing the dice to pre-order on Amazon so people like me don't cancel on Pulse and snag the "free" Prime shipping on this already overpriced product instead.

When it was a freebie for pre-orders, I think they were on to something there. Too bad! (but the release date is fast approaching...)

No I used North American rules but simply utilized the quest map layout and (for most quests) a similar story. I've only play tested the whole thing out with an Elf and Barbarian, so it should be workable for a Dwarf and Knight too maybe a Monk and Druid. However for the Elf and Barbarian they were required to use the Spirit Blade to slay Grimdead, so if I was to use the Monk, I'd have to change the story in favor of him or give him an alternate Weapon to defeat Grimdead like the Raven's Talon or Phantom Blade.

The first several quests are workable for a lone hero, with minor modifications.
For example, Quest 1:
1.) Instead of finding 3 stolen treasures, just make it the 1 guarded by the Zombie.
2.) Remove the chest in the room with the Sorcerer's Table.
3.) Make a separate deck for spell scroll cards, any time a Sorcerer's Table is found a hero may search it to find a random spell scroll.
4.) Add the artifact Armband of Healing as a findable treasure in the chest guarded by 2 goblins.
5.) The doors that lead to the undead are locked, must defeat the Orc and Fimir (now Abomination) to find the key and gain access (Unless you have Pass Through Rock).

So I haven't quite worked out the bugs for the Monk to play through this, I was just playing around with the idea of the Monk having a solo quest.

So, mine arrived today. First thing I noticed was a lack of back-story in the box.

I love the packaging for this one! The arena background is nice, and the invitation scroll makes things feel more real!

There is no backstory sheet with this one (like the Knight or Rogue had), just the scroll "tournament flier." So even more with this one you use your imagination... are those the places he has been, or where he is going? What are his motivations?
