Hero Quest Video Game

Postby Helegak3 » June 1st, 2016, 2:52 am

I've heard different things about a Hero Quest Video Game. Is there one (that is at least reasonably new)? If so, where can I get it. I would be especially interested in one for smart phones...

HeroQuest as in ACTUAL HeroQuest? New???
No, you have to go back to the Commodore 64/Amiga era (which is very reasonable for me ;)).

HeroQuest-esque games? Yes, there are a couple.
I havent played WHQ, But AQ1 comes very close to what you'd expect from a HeroQuest video game.

Mighty Dungeons was a game made by someone here that was inspired by HQ. Keep in mind though that you only have 1 character. The creator even made a series of levels based off the original quest book.

Probably Amiga or DOS. Look for yourself and decide which seems most appealing.
The C64 version, while having worse graphics and controls, has the benefit of actually having the RotWL expansion. I don't know if this was ever made for the other versions. I don't THINK so...

Amiga:

DOS:

Amiga. Find an amiga emulator and a rom file.
Dos. Find the game from an abandonware site and use dosbox to run it.

Just ask if you have trouble with any of this :)
