I haven't tried that one myself... Welcome to the forums!

The HeroQuest Companion App doesn't work on iOS?

If you aren't able to use Tabletop Simulator you can do what I do which is to use a video call type service (like Skype, facebook video, Zoom or maybe Discord) to just point the camera at your real set, meaning you can use whatever you want, though games take a little longer usually.

Where'd you read that? I've got it working just fine on my iPad 6 and iPhone 13.

Kurgan wrote:From what I've seen so far, there are two NES prototypes of HeroQuest. They're conversions of the PC game, but a few differences like the "battle" animations look different (but as before are very basic). There are far fewer colors as you might expect. The NTSC ("US") version is mostly incomplete, while the PAL ("European") version is mostly complete, supposedly. I only played it a little bit, but from what I could tell (playing the PAL version) you can only play with 1-2 Heroes. Either you and a friend each control 1, you go solo with 1 or with 2. You get the 14 Quests (with the Trial) and the ROTWL Quests. It appears to be based upon the UK Version, like the PC version before it. I remember in the PC version there were no restrictions on what type of armor and weapons you could carry (so the Wizard could use a battle axe with a shield while wearing plate armor and a helmet), unless I was playing a modified version. ;) I'd have to test it further... but it's really a curiosity more than anything. You're better off playing the real thing (of course), using your tabletop simulator or one of the other adaptations.Spades

it great, i love

An old post, but it works on both now. I found that bluestacks emulator can run it fairly well on modern pc too (under windows 11 in my case), if info is helpful to anyone.

Yes, but in what ways? I know that the DOS game (1991) has a much more abbreviated version of the Rescue of Sir Ragnar (big chunks of the quest map are removed, plus he can move twice as fast!). The Heroes start off in the opposition position in Quest 10 of ROTWL (at the end rather than at the beginning!).

I don't think I've played the latest version of Lurchbrick's Isometric HeroQuest, but I seem to recall that he took a hardline on the "hero saves from death" rule. The Wizard didn't use an action on his turn, and the monster killed him on Zargon's turn and he just died, despite having a healing spell left (though potions were always auto-used in such cases). But that's a gameplay thing you were talking about quest changes.

Do we have other examples? I"m curious...

Kurgan, I hate to tell you this, but a lot of those very generic comments end up being spammers. They post comments like the ones above, then wait several days for so they don't show up as new posts when mods/admins login, then they go back and update the post with their links. I'm actually waiting for one you replied to in your Twitch thread to go back and update their comment because I strongly suspect it was also a spammer.
