Thanks for the feedback, guys!
@ Weltenlaeufer: Once again, your very kind words are very much appreciated, buddy! If you can believe it, the way those wooden parts came out was quite a surprise to me as well. The good news is that I have found it really easy to create a pretty convincing wood effect with a very simple mixture of stippling, drybrushing and painting on some wavy lines. I may go into the approach in more detail in the future!
@ Maurice76: The blood effect was actually created with Tamiya Clear Red (although GW's Blood for the Blood God paint works just as well), a very useful tool for creating really convincing blood effect. The paint also comes glossy, so there's no extra varnish involved (that being said, I did seal the model using matte varnish before adding the blood, of course).
So a fair bit of my hobby session earlier today was spent with the rather thankless task of finishing the door bases for HeroQuest:
But I soldiered on, and now the doors are done as well -- including a few spares:
And with that, I have actually completed my HeroQuest set (minus the Men-at-arms, but those will have to wait for a bit yet). Here's a look at all of the finished furniture collected in one place:
And all of the stuff I managed to paint over the Easter holiday:
As always, let me know what you think!
