And here's the alternative

Image

As a swarm, it shocked my wife twice after she already knew I painted it and it was there. It's all the yellow-black and all the legs. :D

And, yes they are compatible to Heroquest. I think the Warhammer Quest spiders can have 1 AT and 0 Defense, and give cleave to their enemy.
The other spiders, i will have to become creative now! :-)

That is creepy. What's 'cleave' in the context of HeroQuest?

Cleave: if your enemy is Dead but you still have some skulls left, you may use those left over skulls to attack the next enemy.
Well I thought that those mini spiders should appear in masses to generate that itch effect in the players. And to make the game not boring, players might then go on and kill several per strike. That might infuse some satisfaction in the player's brain's.

Long liven't individuality! :-)
All my Heroquest skeletons. 18 in total. How much would I need in the "worst" quest? 12?

Two of them don't really count. They had been "customized" with lots of enamel paint and a knife by the previous owner. That made the challenge a little bit bigger. Well. It was just the thing that my own 13 year old me could have done, so I shan't be too angry.

Doesn't matter. :-) They screamed for paint. Real paint, I mean.

They look so good with that nice bases and on that 4x8 tile!
Apart from the one with half head fallen at his feet, I can't recognize the other custom...

A thing of beauty. I love it. Still admire your bases.

Where's the big tile from? Is it one of yours? I don't recognize it.

How did you achieve the rust affect on the weapon? I really like it.

It's next to the one without head. It has a part of it's arm missing.

Thanks Ben!
That tile is from Darklight Memento Mori. That game is Warhammer Quest 2018. Sadly the scale is 40mm, so I sold all the models and kept only those beautiful game materials.

IvenBach,
black, dark metallic...
then two brushes in one hand, one with a rusty orange and one with a rusty red. Then paint with both, alternating, randomly, until you like the result.
Then, just to show that there was indeed metal underneath, do the same again, but this time with dark and bright metallic colors on the two brushes, and only on small spots of the weapons.
It was, like, 20 minutes for all of them.
Rust is nice because it doesn't need to be exact. So you do it any way you like and it always works.
:D
