Bru's HQ painted mini's n stuff

Postby bruenor » January 20th, 2013, 9:40 am

Now I know I've added the images to the gallery, but wanted to add a thread here too, so anyone can ask anything they want about the miniatures/paint/whatever.

This thread will have anything and everything I decide I can use in the game.

Hope you enjoy it, and please bear with me as I'm a bit rusty with me brushes, after taking about a year off painting miniatures at all.
(Might add a few pics of stuff already painted too, from before I packed up)

In fact I'll start off with the converted Heroes from before I stopped.

Plus the Witchlord I converted at the same time.

Now onto the stuff I have just begun to paint in the last few weeks

Skeleton from the Darkworld game on one of the above mentioned bases.

Gives more variation to the Skellies in the game which makes me happy. (got more of these as well)

Next a stock Fimir
Image
Edged away from green for him after seeing Mr Saturday's Fimir blog over at Lead Adventure Forum.

Finally a converted stock HQ Elf into my earlier styled Drizzt Do'Urden, from the R A Salvatore Dark Elf books for the Forgotten Realms world.

Greenstuff cloak and hood, HQ Goblin swords, and new right hand from some GW placcy arm.

I just had to get a little used to it, but I really dig the white fur on the barbarian.
Makes sense, him coming from the North, killing polar warbears and stuff.

This. I may paint jewels on my Fimir (although they'll not be so good as yours ;) ) I've used a similar skin tone on my Fimir

I really like the idea of 'upgraded' Heroes with the extra equiment etc. The battle axe is nice on the Barbarian. I may also steal this idea too!

Thanks guys.

If there is anything I do that you like and want to 'steal' please feel free, I'd be honoured. :D

To give jewels an extra pop, after I've finished the painting I gloss varnish just the jewel to give it that glass effect on top of the highlights alone.
(if you matt varnish you may want to do the gloss after matt'ing your minis)

More on the desk at the moment, soon to be up here.
:dwarf: :D
