Im game. Give me some stats. When you say empire hero I'm picturing some type of soldier captain with a sword. Correct my vision if I'm wrong.

My vote is also for the Kev Adams snotling. That's the one included in Warhammer Quest, isn't it? Would like to get my hands on a set of WHQ some day.

One more vote for the Warhammer Quest snotling. Looks more like a trouble-maker. More HQ look to boot.

Well, several crazy months later; I'm back on task.

Working on pulling a Tasoe/Sjeng and painting up my entire base set Heroquest collection. Should be a challenging endeavour.

So far I'll be adding some extra characters previewed before, but now including a new Empire Hero figure (from Adv.HQst)

I wasn't overly happy with the mittens on the Adv.HQst hero, so I switched both arms out with the plate armored fists from Mordheim spares and a present range Warhammer Empire sword. Unwittingly, the studs matched those on his shoulder armor. I also carved a place out and slid on a pouch. He can also accommodate either a Backpack, 2Hd Sheathed sword or shield.

Using plastic glue helped merged parts smoothly, but still its time to begin cleaning mold lines and using some putty to merge feet and bases.

EDIT :

Forgot to add the newly equipped Wood Elf hero that I've carried over into Warhammer Quest with the Barbarian.

They've been fighting side by side for 20yrs (my original boxed set), so will continue onto new adventures whilst I paint up new heroes for this project.

Goddam that is some very good work. What kind of equipment do you use for it? Like a mag glass on a boom arm with a circular fluorescent light? (Don't even know what they're called). Do you cut off old arms using an exacto? They aren't as exact as that for some thicker plastic.

Cheers Sjeng :D

And thanks El_Flesh! Equipment wise is use the mark 1 Eyeball and a day-bulb light from two directions. No mag glass however, possibly in ten years I imagine.

Arm removal was broadly done with exacto and bracing the figure. Then I used a scalpel to carefully clean the cuts, clearing remainders under the shoulders. I then did cuts to the new arms to fit the shoulder joins - which left no visible gaps, so I was pretty delighted at taking care to match those up.

I've got an old Wood Elf Waywatcher I'm basing next, not terribly exciting (solid metal figure in exactly the pose I want).

Nice one!
Actually, out of more than a hundred of my own figs I said I'd paint in 2012, I've only painted zero.
However, I've made my players choose their new heroes so I'll start on them, but first I'll have to ask some thing about basing them.
Do you use just glue or drill holes in their feet to pin them on the base?
