[Complete] Ye Olde Inn style template nearly complete.

The new default theme for the forum is the Ye Olde Inn Style. All new users will begin their stay on this Style which reflects the theme of the Ye Olde Inn Website.

I believe I have the colour scheme complete (with exception to areas that have yet to be used, such as the polls. I don't know how they will match up since there are none currently running to check). I haven't made any new icons yet, but I will when I have a chance.

I'm thinking for the read/unread icons to make some little treasure chests that are open and closed. Anyone have any other ideas?

I like the 'Ye Olde Inn' style. Also, I think that treasure chests (open/closed) is a good idea. Can't wait to see it.

I'll get to work on some as soon as I can. I'm glad you like the new style. Took me nearly eight hours of trial and error with phpbb3's massive CSS files. It would have been a shame if I was the only one using it.

I think the 'quote, edit, report and delete' buttons fit pretty well so I may not change them unless enough people disagree with me. Just the 'new and read' icons to fit the HeroQuest theme as well as the 'new topic and post reply' buttons as they kind of clash with the Agin's Inn parchment background.

I will say that I much prefer the left aligned user info, as opposed to the right aligned that it currently is. It's a little too different.

This template is based on the proSilver theme, which has the poster's info on the right. I actually prefer it this way. My eye catches the posts first instead of other info. You were probably using the subSilver2 theme before (which is based off the default phpbb2 default theme). Maybe I'll take a crack at a second Ye Olde Inn theme based off that one when I have some spare time.

I like the Ye Olde Inn template. Its nice. Treasure chests are a sweet idea for the new and read icons. I'm not quite used to the right aligned user info setup so its strange. I keep looking at the middle of the post at first where I'm used to reading the start of the post. Not really a problem, just something I'm not used to yet.

Phase One of the Forum Icons are complete. All the Topic Icons are now active. They are based off the Wizards of Morcar Reference Chart Scroll with a White Shield for topics that the current member viewing the forum have posted in. Text on the scroll is that of the description on the back of the HeroQuest Game System Box. If you squint real hard, you might be able to make them out. I'm not sure how well the colour for the Unread Topics will work out. Once I see them in action, I might change some border colouring to make them stand out better. Hopefully they'll stand out enough as they are.

Phase Two will be Sticky Icons
Phase Three will be Announcement Icons
Phase Four will be the Forum Icons
Phase Five will finally be the Topic Icons

I'm already thinking about removing the border on the icon and just leave the scroll sitting against the topic background.

UPDATE: Yeah, so I went ahead and removed the border on the icon and changed the unread version to a brighter colour. I think they look even better now.

UPDATE 2: Phase Two and Three are now complete.

UPDATE 3: Phase Four and Five now complete. I may add/reduce/change the Topic Icons depending on how cluttered it looks in the Post Message Screen.

UPDATE 4: Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011, I have animated the unread forum and post icons. I disliked the red border around the unread topic icons for far too long.
