I cant get it to work. Disable the macro security. Ok no issue. Did it.
The macros bar will come up when I go there but as soon as I try and add anything the the quest map it fails and gives an error.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

G'day all--first post by me ;)

First, I'd like to say a huge thankyou to Big Bene for this Questbook.doc resource. I use HeroScribe to make my maps, but I've been looking for a way to make the quest notes match the European style, and his templates are just what I need :D

Second, I notice a few people have had trouble getting the icons to work. I had the same problem at first. Every time I tried to open an icon, I got an error, even with my macro security set to low.

Then I realised that when I extracted the HQ.zip file, it put the extracted files in a folder called 'HQ'. Inside that was ANOTHER folder called 'HQ', which contained all the icons etc.

What I had to do was take the INNER (nested) HQ folder, the one containing all the icons, and paste it into my C: directory. I had to peel the onion, so to speak.

Does that help anyone? When I open the folder with all the icons and look at the directory structure, it didn't work when it looked like this:
C:\HQ\HQ

...but now that it looks like this, it works:
C:\HQ

Of course, I realised after solving this that the European quest notes don't use any icons anyway :?

EDIT: About setting macros to low: in Word 2003 you go to 'Tools', then 'Macro', then 'Security'. I'm not sure about other versions of Word though.

Welcome to the community and thank you for letting us know about the folder setup. Hopefully this will clear up some bugs for others as well.

Just added a video tutorial.
You can find it at Youtube.
I also put the link on the staring post.

Many many thanks to Zenithfleet, by the way. I already added the "bug" you found to the description some time ago.

It is set to A5, which is the size of the European questbooks and approximately the same as the American size.
Never thought about a A4 version. Would you be interested in such a thing?

When pressed enter as writeing on page 2, it leaves a big space between texts. What can I do to get spaces away?
