Dread Maw

New monster I designed, you can already find the image on the fb page. I can already share the stats

Dread Maw

Move 8 squares*
Attack 4 dice
Deffend 5 dice
Body 4
Mind 2

*If a hero stands on the square of this monster, he
is immediately attacked and loses 1 body point, after
which the normal attack is added which can be
defended against. The Dread Maw then disappears
underground again. If the monster's next attack does
no damage, it stays above the ground and can then
be attacked. Can move through occupied squares.

Star Wars Dianoga or Dune Sandworm inspired perhaps?

Is there a tile or model, or maybe one isn't needed? Interesting idea, it's like a cross between a monster and a trap, reminiscent of the Death Mist.

It's even a monster of games workshop. I have several sets of AOS and am making new monsters with them. and so it continues to be right in the heroquest world .

BeetleJuice approves, once it is decked out in some fancy stripes! (Michael Keaton appeared, uncredited, in the Kevin Bacon film "She's Having a Baby" from 1988).

I assume this could also be called "Chaos Maw." ;) Can the Heroes avoid it by walking without rhythm?

Jokes aside, always cool to see new monsters.

What I am wondering is does this worm automatically attack players as it moves through occupied squares or is it deemed to be underground when it does this? Can it move through occupied squares while above ground?

Also: New hero!

It only attacks when the hero enters the designated space. it can move anywhere, even through walls or blocks. As a dm you use the first attack only once or at will. then you can make the monster attack any hero within its range and make it disappear when it does damage. so then it doesn't do 1 indefensible damage.
