Heroes of Ye Olde Inn, I bring you greetings from distant Balqash, the Shining Jewel of the Seven Kingdoms … well a diamond in the rough of the paste gem variety that was found in the muck clinging to the bottom of the Great God’s foot when first he set foot upon the world countless eons ago!

If you haven’t planned your summer vacation yet, consider visiting scenic Balqash!

Enjoy fine dining at the Cat and the Custard Pot where the inn is often fined for rats in the pantry and roaches in the soup. Fine dining ... get it ... (eye roll) ... Chef Zeublouze, renown for such gastronomic delights as "Has anyone seen my pinkie which I lost while mincing garlic for tonight's special" and "Four Heroes Braised in a Pot ,"is sure to tickle your palate!" At the very least you'll get indigestion if you don't get a severe case of food poisoning.

For those of you who are vertically challenged such as dwarves, halflings, and gnomes, the inn offers diversity friendly seating. Note the children's table in the back

If you enjoy an active lifestyle, our annual Running with the Dragons should not to be missed! The dragons rarely do. RUN LITTLE DWARF! RUN! (MANIACAL LAUGHTER

Image

If you're looking for some alone time, enjoy a hike in the Desert of Sorrows where the temperature is never less than scorching hot! There is no need to burden yourself with water because there's an oasis with sweet crystal clear water just west over that dune ... no not that dune, the next one ... oh ... did I say west? I'm so sorry. I meant south. Yes, yes, that's it ... keep going, you'll be FINE! (Evil laugh)

Image

Balqash also enjoys an active nightlife! The night is always hopping with people running from place to place! Our warm summer nights make people positively frantic!

Image

Our physical trainers are simply the best in the land! People are always screaming to get in! Getting out could be more problematic. (cough-cough)

If you haven’t made any summer plans, come to Balqash where you’ll never want to leave probably because you'll be dead and buried on the side of the road.

Your friendly travel agent,

Zargon

Great read, as all your posts have been, including the building and crafting ones, which I haven'T commented on individually.
But rest assured, they will always be read and appreciated. Keem 'em coming!

The poor Dwarf seems to be getting himself into a few scrapes.

Typical Dwarf!

Thanks for your comments. I'm afraid I'll only be active on this board for another month. Since I teach Culinary Arts as the chef instructor of a high school, once the school year resumes, my free time will be severely limited.

Wow, the snacks at your table must be something. Be sure to return next year.

I must admit that I LOVE my job. As the chef instructor of a high school Culinary Arts program, I still get to work with food but I keep teacher hours ... most nights are off ... weekends are off ... and my vacation days are much better than in the private sector. I'm currently on paid summer break for a bit over two months. Last year my district went from giving us Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving to giving us the whole week off. We have two weeks for Christmas and a week for Spring Break. We also get one day off each month for various holidays ... state fair day ... Veteran's Day etc.

If your questing is half as rewarding as your occupation, you're set. Keep us posted.

Nice posting indeed! The town behind the dwarf and the Dragon, is it your home town?

Culinary Arts! Cool. My wife always complains if I do experiments. She restricted me now to spaghetti Bolognese after my last try to cook something real didn't taste as expected. :D
