I agree with $0. I post my creations on here to share with everyone for free. I just do it in hopes that someone will enjoy. For me it is enjoyment in making it so win win for all.

Well, I've seen a few people say that $0.00 would be a good price. Realize, I'm not talking about just ordinary
quests for HQ. I've always posted those here at the Inn for free when I make them, and always will.

I was seeking some thoughts on a good price for quests/adventures for the full rpg that I created, which is
based on the HQ rules and style of game play. I'm sure as time goes on, my adventures would get bigger, longer
and more in-depth. Right now, many of them might be only a little larger than what one might expect from
a HQ quest...or maybe two or three of them put together. Of course, they'll be written out much like old-school
D&D adventures, so they'll have descriptions for rooms and all that good stuff.

Maybe that will help for future comments. Sorry if I didn't explain it better before. And thank you for the
replies so far.

I think you might want to have a lawyer on retainer then. Just because they are not actively selling HQ at this time doesn't mean they will not protect their intellectual property.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I've checked out all the laws pertaining to this subject. All I've done is replicate, in some cases,
the way the game is played...none of the actual wording, and certainly no illustrations. The
"rules of a game" cannot be copyrighted or trademarked. Similar to Monopoly or actual
Dungeons and Dragons. Anybody can create a game where you move around a board and buy
spaces, and then make those spaces better in some way to charge others when they land on
the spaces...as in Monopoly. It's just a matter of reality that that is really the only way that
sort of game play can work.

But thank you. :D

The thing is, unless your game takes off like crazy, the audience for new quests will be very small and the audience willing to pay for more quests is going to be even smaller. You are more likely to make money by giving it away for free and showing a tip jar.

I have between 40-80 downloads per month between all of my different books so far, and that's with minimal advertising and
extra work to gain attention. I gain on the higher end, even more, than that for attention when I put a lot of work into Twitter,
making lots of posts there from my writings and ideas for the game world.

It is just a matter of getting word out there and advertising more....

AND...honestly, just having more material out there. I have the main rules, a few supplements (most holiday themed), the
campaign maps for the fantasy world, and one short adventure with quick-start rules. I also have two mini settings/
mini adventure areas. I need more material...more adventures, really...I have the supplements and setting covered, it
is just a matter of writing the stuff up. Adventures are what I am lacking. I have some HQ quests and questbooks I
want to transfer into my game system, I just don't have time to do so with all the other things to do.

I also have a book of short stories and novels in the works, and some other minor literary pieces to go along with
everything. Again...just need more time to write it all.

Though you haven't been the first to attempt a full change of the rules, you are the first I knew of that was attempting such a project at the Inn. Congratulations on finding your niche.

Really it depends on how much content and value is in the product. I buy SotDL scenario PDF's for $2-$4 each, with 4-16 pages, nicely laid out, with great art.

That sounds right. Go for something like that as a price point and there should be a market. Best answer to the OP yet.
