I don't mind playing with an unpainted set in a aboard game.

But a half-painted set will drive me mad!

Yeah, me too. Same as a wild mix of miniatures from all ranges, not fitting together in style. The most important things in regards to that is the base style and the level of detail on the minis. I couldn't play with HQ and DDM monsters and DarkSword heroes.

I'm very particular when it comes to minis too, I've snuck a few Reaper, Heartbreaker and Metal Magic sculpts that fit the bill but outside the actual HQ sculpts, it has to be 80's/early 90's Citadel for me.

I always figured DarkWorld and Legend of Zagor minis to be very fitting in style, too, especially once mounted on HQ bases. They were mad eby Citadel, too, if I'm not mistaken.
