Voted for the top HQ. Not sure if it represents the actual best (didn't reference), but more for the reason that it popped out. I'd like to see the Air Spell Card icon reworked. Also, the white shield a bit...just a little pixel stepping apparent. Tough crowd, huh? The others look great, by the way.

Ah, yes...Eddy Wizard. How could I forget?

About my earlier post on the icons--I didn't vote for more work needed on the Air Spell or white shield icons, I simply voted for the others as good as is. I'm not sure how hard it is to improve upon the shield, but now that you know my opinion I'm going to vote it fine anyway. I liked your first version of the Air Spell icon better, so I'm still hoping you can get the icon you're looking for. The blowing line doesn't work for me.

My opinions are based on Hero Quest expectations rather than technical ones. The greenish background is too much of a change for me--I'd go back to something blue again, as I'm not seeing the Air Spell Card anymore. Perhaps you could add some darkening along some of the contoured edges to make up for the lack of contrast, but the original icon attempt didn't bother me.

I also think the blue outline for the blowing stream lost the air-like effect--soften it or simply leave it out. Lastly, could you include a bit more of the topknot of hair so it isn't so horizontal? That means cutting a bit off the lower body, I imagine, but that thin line at the top doesn't look organic.

I hope my blatant criticisms help in some way. I'd like to see the elemental spell cards completed, as well. You're doing fine work and learning fast.

That is admittedly pretty awesome, Sjeng. However, one minor thing with your dice tower design keeps bugging me. The box where the dice falls out of the tower and rolls to a stop has a gaping half-circle opening right there where the die will most likely bounce right out of if you hit it at the right angle. I want there to be some sort of insert to close that gap. Aside from that, it's an excellent design, sir. :D

And how do you do your burnt lettering?

the edge is high enough for the dice to never roll out. The gap is needed to close the box around the tower. And your hand fits in more easily that way to grab the dice :)

I completely understand why the gap is there. But from the pictures, it seems like there isn't enough room to stop the dice if they bounced over it. Maybe it's just a trick of the angle or something. :)
