I don't think I like them that much.

If you want to see all ten of the 360s linked from the previous page, you gotta hit the 25th Anniversary version youtube video at the bottom-left after the fireplace video finishes.

My main concern is the mold-seperation lines that are readily apparent on many miniatures. They will probably take a fair amount of work to fix up. As for specifics,
  • I think the fireplace portrait would have worked better as a bas-relief rather than that overly sculptural version. I think I like the gargoyles, though, and the fire area is looking great.
  • I'm not sure about the Goblin's hat, but the archer seems like a good idea with a decent sculpt.
  • The Barbarian's face and body have more detail and will be easier to paint than the classic Barbarian, but his jawline is kinda funky--it almost looks like he's sporting a lamb chop on the left side of his jaw. Can't be sure unless I have the mini to look at though. The sword may fit on the table a bit strangely.
  • The details on the Dwarf's battle axe seem too deeply cut. Perhaps when it's painted on a table this won't matter. I'm happy he has legs.
  • I think the Wizard is an overall improvement, but that staff is likely to cause placement problems on the gameboard. It will probably need repositioning.
  • I think the overt bondage treatment of the female prisoner is overplayed, but I guess in Spain this is okay. I'm glad she isn't on her knees.
  • Of all the prisoners, I think I like the friend-or-foe ambiguity of the thief the best.
  • The Tomb creeps me out with that sheer funerary shroud. The odd vaulting of the supports is also disconcerting. I'm bothered, but I think it works for what it is, a tableau of death.
  • A spider's egg sack as lethal furniture...ugly, but maybe fun in-game.
  • The Vampiress is imaginative--thankfully it isn't yet another Dracula in armor. Her pose is a contradiction. Her legs are solidly stepping forward, but her torso, arms, and claws are wrapped in a billowing gown that seems to infer she is gliding forward. The stretching of the face, the flowing of the hair, and creasing of the gown all blend for a creepy effect--yikes.

I think the vampires is the masterpiece of the game. It is a hommage to a very old classical statue to be seen in the Louvre (Nike of Samouthrake), or at least inspired by, and it will be a pleasure to paint with half transparency effect. At least I will try that the first time.

Don't worry too much about the mold lines. It is the mishaps and the garbage that these two fans were allowed to present. Which is, of course, another strange move from gamezones. :D

2015? 2016? I think we can now safely say this has died a slow death, no? Has anyone ever heard from GZ again? No news/updates? :? :?:

Duuude, a lot has happened. Nothing productive, but the entertainment value has been great.
State of affairs is, Lanzanos first wanted ongoing information from Gamezone on behalf of the backers
and when that wasn't successfull, they backed out themselves, suing GZ for 17.500 €.
That means the backers can go fraggle themselves without any support from anybody.

Yeah. Exactly.
I would be fully happy with a bag of those miniatures without having it complete. It's not as if I would need their rules and cards, after all.

Well. If it comes it is like Christmas and if not, I don't know.
