The Videogames Topic

Postby Sjeng » May 4th, 2013, 1:44 pm

I thought I'd start a topic on videogames here, as we've had a Skyrim topic and a few others. Instead of having a seperate topic on each game with 2 or 3 posts, I'd rather see 1 big topic, as it's an offtopic subject here.

Anyway: Borderlands 2 is said to be even more epic than Borderlands 1, and it's on discount today here for €9,99.
If I had oodles of time to pley it, I'd buy it, but I'm still working slowly on Skyrim (and Oblivion as well).
Then I want to play Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood.
Then Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinity.
Then Assassin's Creed Revelations and 3 will probably be a lot cheaper.

I started Defiance up a a couple of weeks ago. So far I'm very pleased. I'm glad skill-based FPS is gaining more ground in MMO's.
Just cycling through a rotation of abilities gets very boring very fast for me.
I'm looking forward to catch the complementing series.

I've also just received a 1541 Ultimate II cartridge for my C64. It allows me to put rom files on a SD-card and load the games through the cartridge into the serial port.
No more hassle with aligning the reader on the datasette or unreadable disks. These things are fun to tinker with too, but sometimes you just want to actually play some games!
This is easy and stable and since the games are loaded into the serial port, the gaming experience is exactly the same as if it was loaded from a disk drive. Nice...

I actually have HQ for Commodore 64. It's not half bad. Very faithful to the boardgame.

Have only noticed this in the last few days, but on 'STEAM', they are re-releasing 'SPACE HULK' again for $29.99.

I did not know that ATARI put out HEROQUEST all those years ago. Such a shame I gave the console away just after 2000 . man what a retro ride that would be these days
