If only there was some kind of easy fix for eyes

I don't know how people use pins, it sounds like a swell idea but I can't get a result...just a super fine brush for me.

Pins (like needles) or pens (writing instrument)? I'll ask a dumb question to make sure I'm not assuming anything stupid. I do use fine bristle brushes for the eyes, just every time I did them on this one they were terrible. Maybe a day or 2 away from it will be the trick. If not he'll be googly forever.

Yeah, I meant pins ( as in pins and needles )...sometimes a break is needed, I'll hit a bump and abandon a mini for a while till the muse returns.

How do they even get enough paint on to do anything? I think I tried that really early one and no ink would be on the point so I abandoned that real fast. Maybe now I could get it to work to fix up captain googlie.

Same here, I couldn't actually get any paint on either...it sounds brilliant in theory but I failed abysmally when putting the pin into practise.

Yet I often hear/read of people painting minis with pins

Paint an eye patch. If that doesn't solve the problem, paint two.

The story of my life it seems. Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way (with a slight modification, naturally)

Wouldn't that just be sunglasses 8-) .

When I get back to painting I'll update and post photos. Thanks for the tips so far.

Please tell me to stop before I hurt myself. I'm getting more eager to try and paint a fire effect. Simple but effective like thus: http://www.whizzbang.be/images/sonniaa.jpg. The extra greenstuff I had a while backwent onto some Chaos Warriors and they've been steadily calling my name. Fire effects are beyond what I can do right now and I know that. Since I'm a terribly slow painter I wanted to get a few peoples input or tips for painting fire as well as object lighting before I attempt this... I think it was GK that had some good fire effects I saw before but can't find again.

As an update I finished my cleric. I still have a lot of small nitpicky things I don't like but it is progress. I was able to reduce the googly by about 90% too.
