Take care with drybrushing please

You need to clean the pencil so much that you don't see any traces on a piece of paper. Anything more and you'll get stripes.

Problem is, on the paper you try the tip, on the model sometimes the base of the pencil gets used, generating stripes again.

If you know how to do otherwise, please don't use drybrushing, or if you use it because you don't have anything better, be very careful to dip only the tip of your pen into color!

I am satisfied with painted mini's that look ok. I will never be a great painter. I just don't have the eye for it. But a mini painted with care by a semi skilled painter looks far better than an as issued mini or a mini painted by someone who should have just left it in the white.

But I do my best and some of them have come out actually pretty spiffy looking. {I am really good with fur and scale.}

Simple basic colors that are painted in a neat/tidy manner do look far better than an unpainted mini. Same goes for prepainted minis, most the time.

Several colors and some tips makes for a good instructional video. I'm definitely going to watch a lot of these. Sarcasm: I just wish they allowed comments so people could comment ask questions... /Sarcasm Yeah that'd go over real well...

These are great for beginners and big army players.
Personally, I hate the style because it's so bland with huge one-color areas, but for learning basic techniques and such you can't fault them.

When I get to paint the Beastmen I picked up I plan to do them in a demon/corrupted style. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/398076054537495411/ and https://youtu.be/ZdOwQFZtfuE?t=6m14s are for reference.

Make sure you make extensive use of file and green stuff and even knife to get some shapes into these bastards. You'll see what I mean once you hold them in your hands and wonder what's what in the general thigh/loincloth area. Horrible, horrible lack of detail.

I've no interest in anything near the loincloth so don't worry.

https://youtu.be/5p_tSAv2n_w?t=8m30s was very helpful watching the face being painted and seeing how to achieve small subtle details that make a big difference.
