Bet I got you all beat - I picked up my HQ board at Beernut's place, and brought it to my grand-mere's on the off chance there'd be an opportunity for a game. There was! My 19 yr old cousin and 10 yr old daughter of another cousin! She liked the idea that this was a game her own daddy had played in 1989. I opened the box, put the boxes of chars on the side, and she immediately picked out the Skull Wizard, or whatever his name is - the one here on my avatar! She wanted to be him! I explained about dwarves, wizards and elves - but when I told her what a Necromancer was, she wanted to play it! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
So, since the instruction manual wasn't there, only my printed version from THIS WEBSITE of "the Weatherman" I quickly put together a few Necro spells for her, gave her the fire spells deck also, and explained her regular dagger (2AD) had 3 vials of poison that could be used - making it 3AD and -1BP on target per game turn unless it drank a potion of healing.
Well. With one elf using a bow (4AD) and Mitril armor (4DD) they got to it - and ultimately faced the wizard at the end JUST before new year's! So we broke to celebrate 2013, then went back to kick MY ass (as GM) and win the game!
Yup. One of the best new year's evar.
