The Chocolate Topic

Postby drathe » March 7th, 2009, 10:45 pm

I see several topics pouring into Chocolate, so I've started this Chocolate Thread.

I don't know if you Hosers down south have Terry's Chocolate Oranges available around the holidays (be it Christmas or Easter of Presidents Day, they all have the same Chocolates nowadays), but this year I got a White Chocolate Orange. I've never been a fan of Orange Flavoured Chocolate, but I'm a HUGE fan of White Chocolate (the only Chocolate I enjoy other than Mint Chocolate, and Chocolate Milk, which I drink by the bucket full because they don't have them available Intravenously yet). I must say, it was pretty tasty!

I'm not a big fan of orange flavored chocolate. We do have Terry's chocolate oranges, and i've seen raspberry ones too. I've never seen the white chocolate ones before. I imagine they are better than the milk chocolate kind.

I prefer milk chocolate. I'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate. Dove is probably my favorite brand of chocolate. I actually like the milk and dark versions of it. White chocolate is good too. I really like it all, and I can never have too much. Some people can only eat so much chocolate before they say its too rich or they can't eat anymore. I've yet to find something too rich and i could eat it all day!

I've tried the Raspberry Chocolate. I didn't like it so much, which is surprising since Raspberry is by far my favourite fruit. White chocolate is the best though. I like it so much I have a tin of White Hot Chocolate for those chilly days. My favourite chocolate bar is a Mint Aero.

Mint Aero huh. Thats a new one. The one thing I might like better than chocolate is the combo of chocolate and peanut butter. I LOVE Reese's peanut butter cups. Especially the big holiday versions. You know, the eggs, pumpkins, hearts, trees...

It's funny how every chocolate has a holiday version. Smarties at easter have pastel colours, at Christmas they are red, white and green, for halloween they are orange and black (I'm sure M&Ms do the same). But I find it funny how Cadbury's line of mini eggs, although follow holiday colour schemes, are still eggs. I understand eggs for easter, but Halloween and Christmas?

Mint Aeros have been around here for decades. They just came out with White Chocolate Aeros here recently. They've been available in the UK for some time now. I nabbed some at an import chocolate store a couple years ago. Their chocolate is much sweeter over there.

Which is ironic as the people there are usually more bitter...

Sorry, Sir. I'll try to remember that for the next insult.

hos·er /ˈhoʊzər/
–noun Canadian Slang.
a person who is considered unintelligent or uncouth, esp. a beer-drinking man.

Hoo·sier /ˈhuʒər/
–noun
1. a native or inhabitant of Indiana (used as a nickname).
2. (usually lowercase) any awkward, unsophisticated person, esp. a rustic.

By definition 2 of hoosier, it doesn't really matter. :|
