I went and bought the physical copy. It has a nice map of Skyrim, a small booklet with instructions and a TES:online sticker, along with the Steam key. The dvd is in a dvd case inside a cardboard slipcase.

So for those few extra euro's you do get a nice map at least. I also like to have a physical proof of purchase for the better games.

The map is pretty nice. Amazing they made it that simple.
We live in an age where simple is bad (apparently). There need to be more icons, maybe some text from the game, the out of place game logo in the top and of course the (large) developer logo in the corner.

But they actually did this right. Except it's not cloth, but that might be expecting too much.
(cookie to anyone who knows which game came with a cloth map)

I believe that would be the collector's edition.

Ah... sneaky gitz.

I was in fact thinking of Ultima IV. Those were the times when stuff like that just came with the standard box.
A collector's edition in the 80's would be the game director giving you a foot massage!

My copy of Ultima VI was the bargain basement release and only came with a paper map :( Still have the cloth map from Ultima VIII though. Even though that was a disappointing game

I've got the cloth map of Nosgoth that came with Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain on PC. Also, I have the maps that came with every singly NES and SNES RPG released in the United States.
