Price to draw a HQ card?

I once paid 300 € to have my door opened.
Why?

Sunday, night, key broken in the lock, first number in the yellow pages...
It is the price to pay under those circumstance.

In other words, quite simply, supply and demand.

The difference between that and brands being unproportionally more expensive than comparable no-name product has been pointed out.
But it leeds me comparing said situation to the HQ collector's market.

To me, BQP and EQP miniatures are like overpriced brand products when compared to other miniatures you could proxy them with. What makes matters worse, they are far inferior in every respect to some or all comparable miniatures. Nostalgia is not a factor in what I'm saying here. To me, they are like original 1970s Adidas sneakers made from clay and without the second and third stripe. At least that's the comparison I can come up with right now.
