Hello from Finland

Hi! I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself. I inherited my brother's HeroQuest at some point in the late 90s, loaned it to a friend and promptly forgot I ever had it. Fast forward 15 years and I learned that my friend's HQ was actually mine, so there was much rejoicing. A couple of the figures were missing, but I just happened to work in a library with some gadgets and I just printed the missing figures on a 3d printer.

Fast forward another couple of years and I nearly piss myself and cry tears of joy when I discover Ye Olde Inn and all the expansion pdf's (just donated a little amount as a thank you, thank you!). Now I have a complete set of nicely bound quest books for all six expansions, all tiles in various states of being printed, cut and laminated (if I wanted to go real hard core, I could print them on cardboard or plywood on a UV printer and cut them with a laser cutter, but these will do for now) and all the 3d models printed for Kellar's Keep.

What I'm really on this forum for is that I haven't been able to find all the required 3d models (most ogres and everything from WIzards of Morcar seem to be missing, plus the wall base piece), and I'd like to know if people have found good free replacement models for these.

I was planning on opening a new topic for this problem in some other subforum, but ended up explaining everything here. Oh well.

Welcome to the Inn and congratulations on your re-discovery!

The minis are out there, but hard to find and very expensive. It's the wall base that I found the hardest to acquire, but I have a substitute created by someone else.

Hello and welcome!! So do you own the version with red front box?
If you are searching for extra figures, ask to Spookyhappyfun, he will show your path...

Thank you! No, this is the look of the Finnish edition of the base game set, this is what I have: https://cdn-yams.schibsted.com/api/v1/imagestori/images/4882753530.jpg?rule=big

Only Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord were released as Finnish editions back then, now complete sets go for about 150 euros.

I just spent a couple of hours sipping red wine and doing the Tinkercad tutorial and designing my own very primitive wall base. I'm going to do some test prints in July when my summer vacation (started today, woo) is over.

Welcome to the inn! Lots of resources and a good community. When you get around to your wall base, send photos! I like to see project progress!

Welcome to the forum! And what a nice surprise about the "rediscovered" HQ set! ;)

As for the missing models, ah yes, the elusive Wizards -- I am definitely feeling your pain! ;)

Oh... yes, my mistake, I was confusing the Finninsh with the Swedish version.

Thanks! I surely will do that. Now that I got a rudimentary hang of some basic 3d modeling, I thought I could try modifying the Ogre Warrior with some different weapons (and hairstyles) and see if I could come up with passable versions of Champion, Chieftain and Lord.

A trial run of modifying the basic Sword Orc into a Notched Sword Orc worked out pretty well! What an ill-timed vacation, I'd like to go to work on monday and do a test print on this as well.
