So I've seen that some fan-made quest packs have the original white border around the cover picture, how can I get/make that? I tried using an editing program (GIMP) but with my amount of skills I was unable to get anything beautiful done :D Also if you have some better program to use for making quest packs than the one that can be used on MS word, that wouldn't be bad either :geek:

You could try using the original cover picture, scaling it up a bit, filling it all in white (slightly off-white, maybe?) with the bucket tool,
and then placing and centering your original pic over it. I hope GIMP can do that, but I heard it was a very good PS alternative and I think I saw all of the PS Elements tools.

I've been using GIMP like twice so that might be the issue. I'll try the whitening tomorrow and see how it works. Need more practise.

I'm not sure about how to do the white border, but for quest maps you really can't beat HeroScribe. Export it and then import the image into word. You can make the quest notes section underneath. If you have a map or icons that don't exist in Heroscribe you can convert them to an EMF format and import them the same way, placing icons over the map.
