Okay, this is going to be short and sweet. I was going to wait, but I guess it doesn't matter as to when I announce this.

I won't go into much detail here, but I want everyone to know, there are authentic reproduction HeroQuest combat dice on the way. 4,000 of them to be exact. I already ordered them, they are being manufactured right now as you read this. I already paid for them. They are as close to the original Milton Bradley combat dice as one can have.

I also have movement dice on the way too. Same deal, as close to the original as possible.

Just know... They are coming, they will be very affordable and there will be plenty for everyone.

23 days and counting...

I don't know for sure yet, I'm still waiting on the movement dice, I don't know if I can offer shipping out of the states at first, there is a lot to it. But they will be way way cheaper than anything on eBay, that's for damn sure. As soon as I get them in my hands, everyone here will know.

Everyone just be a little patient please.

You mention that the dice are as close as possible to original. Does this mean wood? Plastic is better (more durable), in my opinion, so preferable, though mostly I just want to know. Also, are the dice engraved or painted? Or I suppose blanks with stickers could be possible?

Inquiring minds and all of that.

I've found plastic dice online, I prefer wood as the originals were wood. I'm also looking for some replacements as mine are showing their age.

Okay, maybe I need to clarify since I was so vague. These dice are exact replica's of the originals in every way possible. The whole idea behind this project is to offer an inexpensive alternative for players to replace their original HQ dice with authentic reproductions. I wanted to make dice that blend in with the originals as much as possible. Why not go with acrylic or plastic? Why would I? They are more expensive than wood to manufacture, painted symbols scratch easily, they are heavier than wood and more expensive to ship and for me, it wouldn't have an authentic feel like playing with original dice. HQ dice are almost 30 years old and from the condition of mine, pretty much all of them have held up exceptionally well. There is no need to "upgrade" from the original HQ dice. I don't know why anyone would pay $12+ for two acrylic dice from eBay instead of a whole set of six for around that price. A few years ago I looked into alternative dice options but some of the things desperate players were doing to have HQ dice was sad and aggravating to see. I've personally wanted to fix this and this is how I can fix it using my own personal resources. The more dice I sell, the more I can have made, the more I have made, the cheaper I can sell them for.

14mm
Wooden
Rounded corners
White in color
Black lightly engraved symbols
Same symbol pattern as original HQ dice
Retraced original symbols via Illustrator for maximum high quality detailed engraving

Goblin-King has agreed to play test a set as soon as I receive them. I wanted to get an unbiased opinion from someone who plays hardcore HQ before I throw a price on them. If they suck, I want to know, if they are as good or better than the originals, I want to know. I am looking for the highest quality dice to offer fellow players. If these dice suck, I will look for a different supplier for a second batch. I may be a little over confident, but I am planning on selling my original HQ dice if these dice are as good as I am hoping. I wouldn't settle for or offer anything to others that I wouldn't use myself.

As for the movement dice, they too are exact replicas just like the combat dice, but I have to sell a few sets of the combat dice before I can order the movement dice. Which totally sucks because I wanted to offer a set, 6 combat dice and 2 movement. But we got to wait a little bit. :(

Another thing I forgot to mention, I always wanted Zargon to have different color dice than the other players so the results aren't mixed up. It happens when 5 people are throwing dice all over the table, we all know that, so I was thinking about reversing the colors, Zargon's dice would be black with white engraved symbols. I always thought black is an intimidating color and if you mix that in with the fact that the game master is rolling black dice, it kind of brings a tiny bit of intensity to the game. But, for now, this idea is a novelty one at best and I am not confident if I would be able to recoup the resources from ordering them.
