selling Heroquest - Painted or unpainted?

Postby Jackyboy » April 27th, 2016, 8:28 am

Morning!

So I have come to the decision that perhaps I do not need 4 copies of HeroQuest  ... well maybe I do! But I was thinking of selling one complete base set of the game. Now my question would be to you: What do you think would sell for more?

Unpainted miniatures or painted (to what I feel a VERY GOOD average quality)

I am in the UK and it is a UK set I will be selling...

Thanks

Jackyboy

Depends who you're selling to, and the painting quality. It can go both ways!

unless a VERY GOOD good quality, I'd say unpainted would fetch more.

Painting normally removes value because your set doesn't fit with painted sets of other people. So it has to be very good or you better sell the unpainted set.

For me if the painting was at least average to exceptional I would be more inclined to buy a painted set. But I have 4 sets also, so I won't be buying anymore.
But as a player, if I was to be in a situation where I planned to buy a full set and the difference was paint or not, the quality of the paint job would answer the question for me.

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

thanks for the replies guys... It would seem then that unpainted is the way to go.

Well as it happens I just got an email saying that my zealot miniatures furniture should be on its way to me very shortly! So when that arrives no doubt I will want to keep all things HQ (and maybe even buy some more bits!)

Thanks for the advice
