We seem to have errata lists coming out of our ears on this site, but I couldn't find one for the "European" Second Edition Quest Book and if the publisher doesn't produce one (actually one was produced see below) then I guess it falls to us to plug that gap, especially as the 2021 reprint of the Quest Books appears to contain some of the same errata as the 1989 version!

My intention here is to not only compile yet another errata list but to reproduce the original quest book and then polish it by fixing the errata identified, ultimately ending up with an errata free version (at least free of the original ones but potentially including a few fresh ones) as a spin-off from the main HeroQuest Gold topic, specifically to highlight and record issues with Official Quests and to (hopefully) agree on tweaks to resolve and then republish as a polished edition.

There is actually an official EU errata document produced in 2006, Official EU Errata, so I'll include those that are relevant also.

Quest Maps

I have decided to use the excellent hQuestBuilder - Browser-based Quest Creation to (re)produce all the Quest Maps but have copied the maps into DOC file formats so the hQuestBuilder files below will only contain the maps and not Parchment Text or Quest Notes. If you just want the maps to edit then use the hQuestBuilder files, if you want the full quests / quest packs then use the DOC or PDF versions.

- Spear traps on squares (16,6), (16,12)
- Pit trap on square (5,9)
- A single block square marker into the Southern passageway at point (11,0)
- A single block square marker into the Central-West passageway at point (8,9)
- A door from room U (with the Tomb) leading into the Central passageways, top edge of square (10,12)

### Fixed

- Orientation of the throne on the Quest Map

### Changed

- Changed the position of the Trial to later in the Game Book (now follows Bastion of Chaos)
- Renamed as "Tomb of Fellmarg"
- Narrative/parchment text to reflect the new position “Your exploits in the East have not gone unnoticed. The Emperor has set you a Trial to prove that you are worthy to become his champions. You are to travel east, enter the catacombs of Verag, a foul gargoyle and destroy him. The catacombs guard the tomb of Fellmarg. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with the coveted status of Champions of the Realm”
- Moved the treasure chest and associated Quest Note C into the room A (the objective room) in the square directly above the throne (there is no quest reward for killing Verag so at least this way they'll get something linked with his disposal)
- Moved the treasure chest and associated Quest Note A into room K (with the pair of CWs and the Fimir) and add a Potion of Healing
- Moved Quest Note B into room U (with the Tomb)

### Removed

- The door between room P (with the Weapons Rack) and the Central-South passageway

- Ported the pre-existing "United We Stand" Quest into the pack to replace "The Trial" as the first quest

### Changed

- Format/Style from NA to SE
- Tweaked the Reaper stats from Move 6 to Move 8 and Defend 3 to Defend 2 to align with use of same monster in later Quests
- Moved the Pit Trap from (8,9) to (7,9) to avoid anyone falling into this from activating the Orcs at the same time
- Quest Note text on what triggers the activity in the central room from "on EWPs turn when at least one hero has entered the room" to "when the first hero steps into the room" as that is simpler and avoids the first fastest moving hero from exiting the dungeon with the sword before activation.
