I'd gladly volunteer to do an unboxing. I have a newborn, so if time is tight, I will most certainly at least post pics and full description. Sorry if I missed this part, but when will I be able to buy it?

We're talking about folks who pledged for the fundraiser, which meant you ordered the game by Nov 6, 2020, and it would be delivered sometime this fall.

We're all assuming regular sales begin sometime after that. If you would be one of those folks, there will always be room for reviews of a product (real ones, as opposed to paid shills or non-fans who can't tell it like it is), but nobody knows yet when they start regular sales through the website (much less when it would arrive in physical stores, which we all assume is their plan).

The idea behind this little project would be to give those who bought it already a "heads up" before they unseal the package and void the opportunity to return it, since so little is known about the actual content. See the fine print at the top of the page here to see what I mean.

Of course this also benefits our HQ community here, because the info can be of value to anybody who is making up their mind about the product. Eventually of course this would become widely known so that anybody could make an informed decision about buying, but many of us pledged without knowing how exactly things have changed since c.1991.

Kurgan, totally my mistake. I was referring to the card game. That’s totally my bad.

I bought two sets of mythic tier so I plan to open one. I’d be willing to post as much info as possible.

Anyone know how we can buy the card game?

Okay, thanks for explaining I'll put you on the list. I have no more info on the card game than other have already posted here.

I don't see any harm in it. I bought Mythic Tier, so you can throw my name in the hat.

Thanks WD!

It's going to be luck of the draw (or luck of the mail I should say). And I bet some people will just rip into it without looking, but we're doing this to try to help out, save some possible aggravation/disappointment for those that care. |_P

Sadly I'm not able to purchase this game at the moment. But I'm still wondering when will it be available? Also I'd love to see the unboxing video. Since I'm famous missing things then I hope I wont miss this :D

We know the fund-raised version will be shipping "this fall." We don't know when it will be widely available, but I would imagine soon after that, if they're smart. Then again, it may depend largely on whether enough stores can be opened in locations that might be restricted in various ways (due to covid19). If not, I presume they'd still have it for purchase via their website by then, if nothing else, which means paying for shipping...

How about, since it was your suggestion, everyone who signs up makes a video of their unboxing and sends it to you. You choose the best one and post it, lol.

That's a cool idea... for reviews, at least.

An unboxing provides an opportunity to evaluate the contents, as a motivator for the others to decide whether they want to return it, or rip open too. Less "this looks cool, this looks stupid" and more "here is how the game mechanics & rules have changed in this edition."

There could be different stages of reviews...

First stage: Simple Unboxing. (What's included, probably the least useful portion, since we already know pretty much what it is, unless they change it from the digital preview)

Second stage: Evaluation of said contents + Q&A. (whoa Spell X is different, Equipment Y is different, A was included but not B, Line II says III). This is the key one.

Third stage: review of impressions of presentation. (I liked/hated it because...) This can come for the viewer from the first stage even without owning it yourself.

Fourth stage: playtest review. (how it actually plays). This will come eventually and will be everywhere and everyone will have an opinion. It can be extrapolated from Stage 2.

I'm proposing the first Two stages. The rest can come at any time. If somebody were so cool that they did all four in a video, that would pretty much win the day, but that's the sort of thing I could imagine some paid group doing... but we can't rely on them to get our information in a timely fashion.

What makes one decide to play a game? Some people are fine buying a game blind and just making the best of it. Most of us bought Hero Quest this time because we had a pretty good idea of what we were getting and wanted to support the effort (perhaps in the hopes if getting more new content that was at least as good if not better than before, and more inspiration for future creations of our own). Those on the fence will be persuaded (or deterred) from the sale based on more info on that content.

So stuff like "how tall is the figure really" and "how big are those cards" are important, but so are the gold prices of Equipment... stuff that we thought would be the same but is now different... and any surprises.

The kind of stage 1-2 I propose isn't just "wow, here's a cool pile of cards... some cool dice... a cool pile of minis... a cool board... some cool character sheets... a cool rule book... a cool quest book... all in this cool handy box, rate/comment/subscribe/donate/hit me up on instagram." That's too easy, and it doesn't tell us really what's different in terms of rules and mechanics.

I say video because that can lend itself well without as much spin. Then again a textual description and answering questions from an honest fan (someone who isn't paid to sugar-coat) is helpful, because you may not care about something, but others would and you can answer it for them. "Sorry, but X isn't the case, it's Y."
