Maybe someone can contact the shop and ask for a better picture of the back?

I can see from the box that there are skeleton and orc archers, goblin boomerangers and goblins with bombs or potions for throwing.

I think the heroes might be druids and the wolf is their animal form.

The Ogress are massive and awesome! I guess those are alt sculpts of the warrior Ogres? Or maybe shamans? Very cool doors too for what's it worth!

I wouldn't pay that much when you can just wait for the retail release.

Wow. I like the ranged units, and the ogres actually having weapons and armor pieces (and not just a board with a nail in it).

The hero definitly looks like a druid, maybe a dwarf version. I am surprised they didn’t use the same sculpt like they did with the Bard and Warlock. The new figure looks much more druidish than before. I doubt its a new hero, but it could be some sort of beastmaster maybe.

Its interesting to see the pack has 10 quests instead of 7, presumably introducing the World’s End Tournament first hinted at in the Wandering Monk pack. I’m excited to see what we will get!

Edit: If you look closely at the cards, they appear to be the Druid spells, so it appears there are a male and female version of this hero in the same pack. It also looks like there is a card for the wolf too, so we will have to get a good view of the cards to know what is going on.

Great catch Sir Rick! I think you are totally right. Makes me wonder what hero they will include in COPD. The wolf mini will def be getting use in FH in my group when we get there.

I emailed the store to see if they could provide a better picture. Let you all know if they respond!

I posted a bunch of initial reactions on discord, let me try to condense them here:

Many rumors exploded. Are those skeleton archers then? I couldn't quite tell what they were supposed to be (other than they were using bows).

Beast form of Druid (male & female) is a single square wolf, not a bear.
Arena tile (double sided?). Sounds very much like the clues left in Monk's lore scroll. Are they for solo heroes or group quests? Or does "new way to play" mean alternate plays in each quest?
New forms of goblins and orcs.
No "chest" but gates, throne (very big!) and stone doors (not cardboard inserts).
The storyline sounds focused to leave open the possibility that Ogres are not all bad (or chaotic as they were in the original... more "corruption" and influence, in the original the Ogres were still a threat to be fought even after the defeat of the sorcerer Festral and the Ogre Lord).
One extra type of Ogres... a shaman (with magic?). The three big boss Ogres are two square monsters. I know many people wanted this.
At first I was thinking we had dark blue Ogres, but now I'm thinking maybe they are just dark gray (matching the furniture), but now we have beige (unless those are the same "off white" as the undead?). Ogre with the big crown I am assuming is the "Ogre Lord" but I am not sure which is which with the others, if they retain the same names.

If those are skeletal archers, that's another thing many people were asking for (the only other thing missing are ratmen).

I think Amalgamash guessed goblin sappers or came close, didn't he? Maybe he knew. ;)

The "black borders" around the tiles to me could sub for the white walls.

Re: AGAINST THE OGRE HORDE discussion

Postby HispaZargon » Saturday January 27th, 2024 10:48pm

The leaked box content looks quite spectacular. Hasbro seems to had been hard working on this expansion.

I like the character Ogre miniatures, they are awesome, however their size looks a bit weird for me compared with the size of regular Ogre Warriors. Why are they so big? Is it caused by Dread Magic? is it due to their higher age? or just a consequence of how far are they fed compared with other Ogres?

About the 'new' Heroes included, for sure they are Druids because the left hand pile of cards are for sure the same Druid Spells included in the Mythic Tier box (check their artworks). Their race looks as halflings according to their size (not Goblins since their head should be bigger). This leads me to think what will happen after this to the Druid Hero miniature included in the Mythic Tier, now I am quite convinced about it will be never released again, becoming it a Mythic Tier exclusive. Or makes any sense the opposite after seeing 2 Druids in AtOH box?

Great idea including miniatures for regular monsters with ranged weapons. I think this kind of extra is much better than adding extra furniture or extra dice like in previous expansions. The inclusion of a companion wolf/hound is also a cool point.

So interested about how AH has dealt with the Chaos Spells tokens, Ogre Body Points mechanichs, Pit of Chaos tile and other no-too-much-tested stuff included in the classic expansion.

Can't wait to see the new three solo quests and the arena mechanics/background. Hopefully I will not be dissapointed.
